Alice: A goddess who was very kind to him, asking him about his former god. Demyx refused to give her Kija’s name, just in case Kija got in trouble.

Bishamonten: A very nice War God who took Demyx in when he made the decision to leave Kija.

Davesprite: Scary guy who plays the turntables and has a sword through his belly but isn’t upset about it?!?

Enomoto Tatsuya - ”Eno”: A friend to whom Demyx is very attracted. After holding hands and confessing on the bridge, they’re seeing each other.

Hakkai: A strange man who taught Demyx that shinki can get hurt. (Thanks, now he’s terrified.)

Izuku: A nice person who taught him about Greece Greek food and gave him snacks! Now his new god.

Sakon Shima: Another of Demyx’s close companions. Demyx previously carried a bit of a torch for him, though they’re more like bros or buddies than anything else. Would have probably dated him, but Sakon did not appear to be interested. Oh well!

Personality:
At first glance, it’s clear to see that Demyx is a persona that is uncommon to the company he keeps. While he shares attributes in common with other Organization XIII members, (such as his laziness, for example), he is unique in that he stands out as being their most friendly, amiable affiliate. There’s an air of childish playfulness in the way he carries himself, his mannerisms, and most of his interactions. At a basic level, however, he gets along with most anyone he meets; though he admittedly gets along better with those who don’t ask much of him.

For the most part, Demyx keeps in good rapport with his fellow Organization members, more than occasionally using “pet names” on some of them, whether they approve of them or not. He’s chatty, when compared to some of his cohorts, and very casual in his manner of speech. His body language is highly animated, and easily read.

Still, Demyx, like most any other Nobody, is a selfish creature at heart, shown to be flagrantly inconsiderate on more than one occasion in canon. He lacks genuine malice toward others in most of his doings, however, shown to be little more than indifferent about many matters that would normally elicit more response. This includes an instance in which several of his allies fall, to which he callously implies that it’s better with them gone, simply because he didn’t like the way they treated him, specifically.

Tying into that selfishness, he’s often seen manipulating other Organization members into doing his “dirty work” simply so that he can lie around and aimlessly strum on his sitar. For example, he’s shown dumping his own missions off onto Roxas on more than one occasion, simply because he’d rather spend his time goofing off or relaxing. Demyx is also the first to balk at an important task or mission, saying that he’s “not the right guy” or “not comfortable” with them on more than one occasion.

Largely because of this, he’s often called “useless” -- especially given his penchant for avoiding combat despite being enlisted into an organization that heavily incorporates and relies upon such. That avoidance means he’s typically sent out for reconnaissance missions, which implies that he must be reasonably astute and perceptive of his surroundings, despite all appearances to the contrary. Nevertheless, even when sent on those excursions, he’s still notably hard to keep on-task, likely due to his lackadaisical nature and unwillingness to work. As a result, he’s seen in canon sent along with note cards and various other physical reminders.

Furthermore, despite being a member of Organization XIII for some time, Demyx is arguably its most timid affiliate. His battle style is reflective of this as well, given that he doesn’t attack hand-to-hand, but rather, uses his powers to manipulate water and water-clones of himself who attack on his behalf. He often complains about being assigned missions that are “violent”, saying he’s not cut out for combat. When forced into confrontations, he’s often shown as being incredibly jumpy, yelping when struck.

This, of course, is all a clever ruse, in the end -- Nobodies such as himself are without hearts, thereby unable to feel emotion in earnest, fear included.

However, it’s important to point out here that Demyx, unlike other members of Organization XIII, believes that Nobodies do have hearts, and states so openly. Additionally, he seems somehow offended/upset when Sora and company rebut that they don’t, which prompts Demyx to drop his fearful façade and attack without further delay or avoidance. Moreover, when he is ultimately struck down in battle and begins to fade away, Demyx states that he doesn’t want to die, perhaps further founding his own theory about having a heart in the process.

Abilities: Canonically, Demyx is gifted with control of water. He’s able to replicate himself in water form to avoid actual hand-to-hand combat with his foes, and produce geysers of water as well as large bubbles of it to push enemies away. As another option, his water-based attacks can also take the shape of music notes.

Those powers aside, Demyx is highly musically-inclined, often shown aimlessly strumming on his sitar at most any hour, often to the annoyance of other Organization members. Music is the basis of his attacks -- his means for summoning and controlling water -- and is otherwise interwoven throughout his non-combative “off-duty” time.

Strengths: Fun, friendly, casual, level-headed, pacifistic.

Weaknesses: Lazy, cowardly, childish, selfish, callous.

God/Shinki: Shinki.
Why?: Demyx doesn’t seek to have the power of a god -- especially if that means working for it. For example, it is stated that Demyx could have a higher rank within Organization XIII, but is simply too lazy to claim it.

Power: Based on his inherent musical nature, the power most befitting someone like Demyx, in my opinion, would be sound manipulation. As a shinki, he would be able to deafen enemies as well as silence them, (sound absorption); reverberate with certain objects to move and/or shatter them through overpowered resonation, (including earthquake generation, if aimed toward the ground); track enemies via echolocation; and replicate or project sound, (such as to confuse or distract enemies).

Plus, of course, they’re sending the wrong guy for this. Again. Yet, here he is, in the dead heat of summer, practically melting where he stands in his black leather coat, utterly lost. As per usual. Just the way Saix had predicted, too.

So why in the same breath he’d insisted upon sending this particular Organization member out on this lame recon mission still doesn’t make sense, right up to this very moment. But whenever he tried using his typical tactics to weasel his way out, old X-Face got huffy and... eh. It was just easier to go with it.

And Demyx is all about easy, that’s for sure.

Plus, well... it beats heart collection duty. So it could be worse; just... not by much.

That still doesn’t stop him from looking as out-of-place and unprepared as he feels here, pushed out on his own with little more than a tiny index card of mission notes to read from, should he need it.

Or at least, he’s pretty sure he remembered that much before heading out.

It’s not until he encounters a friendly, (well, friendly enough), face that Demyx realizes that... might not be quite the case. ]
